Latest OxygenOS updates for the OnePlus 7T/7T Pro bring improvements to RAM management, app launch speed, and photo quality

OnePlus’ Android skin — OxygenOS — undoubtedly offers one of the best software experiences out there. Not only is it fast and fluid, but it also offers a wide scope for customizability. And on top of all that, it still offers an experience as close to stock Android as any other. With the latest release of OxygenOS, OnePlus introduced more new features to the software and since its release, the company has pushed several updates to further improve its performance. Now, OnePlus has started rolling out another update for the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro, bringing even more improvements for the devices.

According to recent posts on the OnePlus Forums, the company has started rolling out OxygenOS 10.0.7 for the OnePlus 7T and OxygenOS 10.0.5 for the OnePlus 7T Pro. The latest update for the OnePlus 7T brings improvements to the app launching speeds, optimizations for RAM management, and the Android security patches for November 2019 among other things. Here’s the official changelog for the OTA update rolling out to the OnePlus 7T:

  • System
    • Improved the launching speed of some apps
    • Optimized the RAM Management
    • Optimized the black and white screen issues with some apps
    • Improved system stability and general bug fixes
    • Update Android security patch to 2019.11
  • Camera
    • Improved the photo quality

The OxygenOS 10.0.5 update for the OnePlus 7T Pro brings similar improvements and optimizations for the company’s flagship. However, the update also includes a fix that addresses an issue that some users were facing while charging their devices. Here’s the official changelog for OxygenOS 10.05 for the OnePlus 7T Pro:

  • System
    • Improved the launching speed of some apps
    • Optimized the RAM Management
    • Fixed the black and white screen issues with some apps
    • Fixed black lines on the screen while charging the device
    • Improved system stability and general bug fixes
    • Updated Android security patch to 2019.11
  • Camera
    • Improved the photo quality

As with all OTA updates from the company, OxygenOS 10.0.5 and OxygenOS 10.0.7 for the OnePlus 7T series are being rolled out in a staged fashion. Initially, the update will be delivered to a few users. Once the company confirms that the updates don’t have any critical bugs they will be rolled out to the rest of the devices.

How Does the Honor 9X Compare to Other Budget Phones?

The Honor 9X is one of our favorite budget phones of 2019. While the Honor 9X implemented lots of great features into their device, other companies have put out some really competitive options. See how the Honor 9X compares to the competition.

Honor 9X €299.00

The Honor 9X is the first in the X-series line to feature a pop-up camera. This pop-up camera has a fully motorized design. When the selfie mode is activated, the camera will quickly rise from the top of the phone. To really enhance the full-screen notch-free effect of the phone, Honor fitted a larger display into the phone at 6.59″. The end result is a large full screen phone with a very convenient motorized pop-up camera.

With the 9X, Honor put a great deal of attention into the photography aspect of this phone. The device is fitted with a 48MP triple camera that includes an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The f/1.8 aperture is paired with the half-inch sensor to produce super clear photos. The AIS super night mode promises improve your low-light photos. Observe some of our initial sample shots here.

Honor 9X

Honor 9X Selfie Camera

Aside from the pop-up camera, the Honor 9X sports some fantastic specs and features for a phone under €300. The Honor 9X features the Kirin 710F and 6GB of RAM. There are other models that come with the Kirin 810, but for one reason or another this isn’t included in every model. This makes the processor a very mild upgrade from the previous Honor 8X which came with the Kirin 710. With that being said, there is not much to criticize when it comes to performance on this phone.

Honor 9X Specs
Chipset HiSilicon Kirin 710F
RAM/Storage 4/6GB 64/128GB
Display 6.59″ 1080x2340p
Selfie Camera Motorized pop-up 16 MP
Main Camera 48+8+2MP
GPU Mali-G51 MP4
Battery 4000mAh
Software Android 9.0 EMUI 9.1

Overall, the Honor 9X is the best of the X-Series so far. While the camera is usually the main feature to suffer in budget phones, the 48MP shooter on the 9X is actually one of the best aspects of this device. The Honor 9X is a great deal for anyone looking to get the most out of their smartphone camera.

This is the best phone under €300 in 2019, but there are plenty of other great budget phones that came out this year. See some of the other good options below.

The Moto One Action has really great specs for the price, but stands out because of the unique 21:9 display. Very few phones have this aspect ratio, and most of them have much higher prices.
